About Us
SKAD, Scott Kitchen Architecture + Design, is a Miami based studio designing modern residential and commercial architecture, plus custom furniture. We think of architecture as a practice that requires team effort and collaboration: clients, engineers, contractors, and designers are all essential to a successful project. We also believe landscapes are inseparable from structures and interiors. We find modern principles to be timeless. Our first task with each project is to understand the client’s vision and need, not to present our own. We value direct communication and efficiency, as well as interactive in-person meetings with each client.
Scott Kitchen, AIA, is the Principal and co-founder of SKAD. As a Florida licensed architect, he has over 20+ years of experience designing commercial and residential architecture as well as custom furniture for his projects. Beyond managing client projects, he teaches Design Studio at Florida International University. Scott received a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Florida and a Master’s in Architecture from Arizona State University. He is Brooklyn-born and now resides in Miami with his wife and partner Patty.
Patty Hernandez-Kitchen is a co-founder of SKAD. She is a Miami native with a license in real estate and a passion for investing and functional design. She manages daily operations for SKAD and enjoys helping clients get the results they desire.
